It’s not only the horses that need training at our place, the dogs also need enough training time. Of course they go on walks every day but Ingo, my border collie who’s about to turn one, needs a little more stimulation for his brain. In order for Ingo to feel good and learn from the beginning I’ve hired a professional dog trainer named Pernilla Swahnström. She’s based just outside of Enköping and she’s training and competing her own dogs, but she also holds courses and is coaching dogs. I’m very grateful for having this opportunity and Ingo loves to go there for practice. Pernilla is teaching nosework and tricks. They don’t practice any herding since I don’t want him to start herding the horses. As most border collies Ingo is a fast learner and very quick thanks to Pernilla who’s really guiding him like the professional that she is. I’m so impressed with how fast he’s learning. Professionals should really work with youngsters, regardless if it’s dogs or horses. Then you’ll get everything right from the start and the youngster will get a good and solid ground to keep working from.
