Last Sunday the Equestrian Club of Enköping arranged a masterclass for all members. A lot of members showed up to listen to my mom while she was telling and explaining as my sister and I rode.

First I was on Emma’s horse Olle, 5 years old. Since Emma works at the riding school she knows the horses there very well and therefore rode Millie, also 5 years old, and I borrowed Olle from her. The purpose of this was to show two horses of the same age that have received the same type of training following the same teaching plan but for two completely different jobs and purposes. One of them will be a competitive horse and the other a good teaching horse. Both of them were a bit tense and confused to begin with but got more relaxed as we kept on going and they both showed off well.

Then I rode Bella and showed a bit more collection, changes, shoulder in and half passes. Emma rode another horse from the riding school, Mona, who really loved being in the spotlight. This was to show off the next step in training when the horses have come a bit further than the previous youngsters we showed.

Last but not least I rode Bobbo and he was very excited and motivated. We demonstrated what our current training looks like while learning the one tempies, piaff and passage. I had a great time riding him in front of so many members of our club.

Our goal with the clinic was to communicate the needed sense and humbleness to the horse, that every day is a new day and how important it is to follow the scale of training according to plan regardless of the level you’re at.

My mom, Emma and I would really like to thank all of you who showed up and we hope we have inspired you.
